Andrew Lawson: A Voice for San Diego

Born and raised in Spring Valley, California, Andrew Lawson is a dedicated community member and first-generation college graduate running for the State Assembly. His journey is defined by a tireless work ethic, having balanced full-time employment in the fast-food industry and multiple jobs while pursuing his education.

Educational & Professional Background

Andrew’s commitment to self-improvement led him to become the first in his family to graduate from college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies from Grand Canyon University in 2018. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education in 2021 while serving as a substitute teacher in San Diego. After facing systemic challenges within the education sector, he transitioned into the private sector, where he currently serves as a casino accountant.

Civic Engagement & Political Platform

In 2024, Andrew began engaging with the public on TikTok, growing his "salty_rainbow" account to over 5,000 followers through active debate. This passion for discourse translated into local action when he joined a Spring Valley planning group that same year. By 2025, he was appointed as a delegate for the CAGOP, eventually launching his campaign for the State Assembly.

Andrew’s campaign is built on the following core principles:

Tax Reform: Supporting the elimination of state income tax in California.

Economic Growth: Advocating for the deregulation of business.

Job Creation: Promoting tax incentives for businesses that relocate to or open within California and hire local citizens.
